Yelp 12/22/2009 I was looking at a 2000 Mercedes 230C last week, and found the PDX Inspections ad on Craigslist. Because he appeared to have good reviews, I decided to set up an appointment with Josh at PDX Inspections. That turned out to be a great idea, and money well spent. Josh was extremely thorough and took his time to do his comprehensive set of checks...even though the weather was cold, wet and miserable. I was impressed with his automotive knowledge, and his unbiased opinions. (He does not care whether you buy the car or not, so you will get the straight scoop from him.) Turns out, he found about $800 worth of maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. With his written report in hand, this allowed me to negotiate $800 off the car price. So in essence, this inspection did not cost me money...it SAVED me $680! I will absolutely use Josh again when I buy another car, and would have no problem recommending him to my friends and family. Will use Josh again. Google Business  Very Good Service at reasonable expense I was about to buy what I thought was a nice Audi A6 with a clean CarFax report. Test drove nicely and appeared to be in excellent condition. Josh inspected it and informed me there had been significant paint work indicating a likely collision. Very nice detailed report within a couple hours of inspection. Saved me from an expensive mistake. Google Business  Used PDX Inspections again.... I just bought a high mileage Honda Odyssey with a lot features (ie, potential to fail). Josh went to the seller's office and gave the car a thorough check up. He brings a full set of tools, a compressor (to raise the car), computers, and scan tools. If you're skeptical that an onsite inspection can be as thorough as an in-shop inspection, withold judgement until you see Josh at work. I got all the information I needed to make a decision about the car (I bought it), and didn't have to deal with the hassle of driving the car to a shop. I was test driving the car for the day and called PDX Inspections to see if they could do an inspection on very short notice.. I spoke with Josh and he arranged to inspect the car within 2 hours of my call! Josh did a very thorough inspection and answered many questions that I had about the car (he was able to tell me more about Accords than the car dealer). At the end of the inspection Josh was able to tell me that the car was in great condition, no mechanical problems, and everything was in good working order... Google Business  Saved me from making a big mistake‎ I was a bit uneasy about the vehicle I was considering purchasing. The carfax report provided by the dealer indicated the title was clean but I wanted to have an inspection done to put my mind at ease. I received a call from Josh within 30 minutes of sending my email to him and he made it out to dealership that same day to do the inspection on the 2006 Honda Accord I was interested in. I had my inspection report back via email before 5PM that same day. His very thorough report indicated that the vehicle had been in a significant front end collision with airbags deployed. The body work in his estimation was not done well and the exhaust and air conditioning systems were not working likely due to the collision. He also advised that the vehicle would need new tires and brakes almost immediately. Josh inspected my 2002 M5 at the car dealership prior to buying it. It's a complicated car with lots of features, but he took his time to review and test everything. He emailed a 3 page report within 20 minutes detailing the cosmetical and mechanical condition of the car. It needed a clutch, new tires, and an instrument cluster, which I negotiated into the final purchase price. I've used him for 2 cars and will not buy a car without his opinion in the future. We were referred to PDX Inspections and are so glad we scheduled an inspection. Josh went to a small wholesaler/dealer and completely inspected the car top to bottom. After hanging up, I realized this car may be such a great deal that I had to act as fast as possible. So, I got on Angieslist and right away I found Josh. I found Josh to be immensely professional, punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable. He knows his stuff. He also offers an easy to use online system for scheduling and making payment via credit card which I liked. That way you know all the info is at his disposal. With Josh scheduled, I then had the confidence to call the seller and say I could drive down next day rather than in three days. What happened the next day was a car buyers dream. I drive down, meet the owner and see the car, then Josh arrives on time and does the inspection and test drive, Josh gives me a verbal report on the car, I decide to buy it, owner and I go to his bank to complete the transaction.
